Chip Guan Heng is a family business run by Goo Soo Khin and his son, Kenneth, who has been learning the ropes from his dad since 2017, after his father had undergone surgery for medical reasons. They are Singapore's largest wholesaler of supplies to traditional, cart-based ice cream businesses since 1970.
In its early years, the business was so successful that it necessitated a move from their original base in Changi to their current establishment in Joo Chiat Place. Demand for their ice cream products continued to grow, warranting further expansion both in terms of physical presence and range of products sold. Having started off in humble beginnings with simple flavours like vanilla and chocolate, they have since diversified their product range to include flavours like green tea, raspberry ripple, among others.
Till date, they remain the primary supplier of the 'ice cream uncles' still seen around Singapore – commonly based in areas like Orchard Road and Clarke Quay – whose ice cream remain a must-try among many tourists. Simple as Chip Guan Heng's product may be, its back story is a significant proponent of Singapore's rich heritage.

Sundays: 9.30am - 12.30pm
Older hawkers hold on to island-wide licenses which allows them to sell ice cream throughout Singapore. Singapore Food Agency has ceased the issuance of such license. Hence, younger hawkers have localised licenses, restricting their business onto to areas that they have been allocated.
